13. Dock and Battle Street

Located on Rt.36.

The State of New York completed a branch of the Genesee Valley Canal to Dansville in 1842. Local businesses wanted the canal to run towards Main Street so they could enjoy the economic riches, the state did not.  A battle ensued and the local towns people won.
